Snapdragons are very hardy plants that can withstand a heavy frost and can endure cool weather. That is why they are widely planted for winter flower colors in mild-winter areas. In colder areas they will flower from spring to early summer but most varieties will also have a second bloom in fall. The gradual opening of the buds provides color for an extended period of time. Snapdragon flowers are very colorful, from white to yellow, red, pink, orange and bronze and also different hues of those colors.
